Jason Smith

Co-Founder

Jason was co-founder and founding CEO of P4P Marketing. He tragically passed away on June 18, 2017. He is survived by his wife Kathy, as well as their three children Monica, Carter, and Hannah. Below is the original profile Jason wrote about himself. We leave it here so that he may be remembered as we continue to execute on his vision for P4P and carry on his legacy. “I was born and raised in St. Catharines, a city on the shores of Lake Ontario, about an hour south of Toronto. My first start-up was Shoestring Lawn Care. I was 13 years old and already knew I was destined for success; I would never be satisfied as one of those average, “house and garden” lawn cutting kids that you find on just about every block. I intended to corner the market! During spring break I would go door to door in my neighborhood and in other parts of the city and cold call. I got a bartender at our local racquetball club to save all his beer caps for a few days. I’d paint the caps green and sell customers 12 for the price of 10 lawn cuts paid in advance. I’d then hire a couple helpers and we’d all spend the summer cutting grass. As a teenager, I dreamed of owning my own hotel, and after high school, I went to Banff, AB to work at the Banff Springs Hotel. Although I never did fulfill my ambition of owning a hotel, my Banff experience was memorable because it was there that I met my future wife, Kathy. Kathy and I have been married for 23 years, and we have 3 beautiful children, Monica, Carter and Hannah. Carter, now 18 has severe Autism, and he, probably more than anyone else, has taught me much about myself and about the quality of compassion. Both myself and my wife are involved in supporting the Autism Community. I love to swim, read, hike and drink red wine. Recently, vegetable gardening has become somewhat of an obsession: I started with one plot in my backyard, and have now replaced my entire front lawn with raised vegetable beds. I am proud to admit that my passion has inspired others in my neighborhood to take up gardening. As a business entrepreneur, my goal has always been to create novel concepts within traditional industries and encourage others to share my vision. P4P is my 5th start-up. I am committed to exceeding clients’ expectations and doing whatever is necessary to ensure their satisfaction. Strong client relationships are what a successful business is all about and there is nothing that says “good job” more, than when a client refers another business my way. As a firm believer in the importance of helping others, I would like to be remembered as a good guy who made a positive impact on the life of everyone with whom I crossed paths.”
